    Guys,
    the V2 was supersonic, the people on the receiving end didn’t know it was coming. The Stuka dive bomber (JU 87) had a siren I think that is what you were thinking of.

    The V1 rocket was the one that made the whistling sound as it was flying, not the V2, which came nearly straight down from the stratosphere with no sound at all. The V1 made the sound UNTIL it was over the destination, when the rocket engine stopped, and then fell silently out of the sky. The citizens of London ran for cover when they heard the whistling sound stop, because the rocket would hit the ground within 30 seconds.
